Pelahatchie

As you drive along Pelahatchie County Road, passing the beautiful homes and rolling hills of a town in southwest Rankin County, Mississippi - it's easy to see why this city was founded on Big Pelahatchie Creek. The creek flowing into the Yockanookany River is soon joined by its tributary: Pearl River.

Pelahatchie's location provides excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation, including fishing and boating, and outstanding educational institutions that include a public elementary school, a middle school, and a high school.

The city has everything you need within walking distance of your home or apartment complex. Our downtown area includes a grocery store, restaurants, shops, and even a movie theater where you can catch the latest flicks on the big screen with friends and family. There are also plenty of parks throughout our community so that kids can have fun while parents relax, knowing they are safe under their watchful eyes.

Pelahatchie Attendance Center (Chiefs) is a public school in Pelahatchie. It's home to over 600 students and has been recognized as an "A" School by the Mississippi Department of Education. East Rankin Academy (Patriots) is a private school that offers students a Christian education with small class sizes and individualized attention. The Patriots have won multiple state championships in football and basketball!
